B:what you want will always change
G: Before after I achieved the goal, I would set another one
but now I dont have a goal to achieve anymore
Im not sure if im on the right bus
Im not sure if this bus will take me to where I wanna go
B: but you gotta go somewhere
baby, everybody is in the same bus
it's just what you do with your time
G: no....
not everybody is on the same bus
different buses go to different destinies, diff stops, and take diff time
of course, in the end, they all go to the stop called, death
B: but everyone is on one
B: not knowing where they are really going
G: u go on different buses, u will meet diff ppl
Also, have diff life
a lawyer wont be on the same bus as a homeless guy who sleeps on the street
maybe at some point, they have met on the same bus
and then the homeless guy took off the bus and took another one
the starting and ending stop is the same
but diff buses go diff places
creat diff life styles
create *
too many ppl want to go on the "lawyer and doctor bus"
but the spots are limited
if u dont know where ur going, then u will waste ur time or even take the wrong bus
B: lol baby...
why not take your own car
try to find your own way by taking different routs
G: hmm....I guess u just made a really good point
4:37pm
B: as long as you are driving, your going somewhere
G: I havent thought abt this at all
but if u dont know where ur going
ull get lost or even
run out of gas
B: then walk to a gas station
G: but time will be wasted
B: lol
it may be hard but if your persistant you'll get back on track
G: maybe
B:and all you can do is go
G: but what if u dont know what you should persist to
B: if you stop then you are going nowhere
G: sometimes, if u stop for a lil bit, u will know where u wanna go
B: sure u should take some time and think of where to go next
but you've gotta keep going
G: but if u keep going without thinking, u might go to the wrong way and can never come back
B: dont stop too long because you might miss a great chance
This is a really satisfying conversation to me. It wakes me up and makes me think...
Both the girl and the boy make good points. They just stand at different angles and look at life differently.
1. Speak for the girl's point of view:
This society is crucial and unfair at most of time. Everybody is from birth to death and from nothing to nothing. However, there are so many different buses go around different routs. As she said, a lawyer most likely will not be the same bus with a homeless guy. Yes. We have already passed the brutal hierarchical ancient time. However, we are experiencing a new version of hierarchy society. Although the space for freedom has been getting bigger and bigger, the thoughts for equality between genders, races, and classes has been evoked more and more loudly, the love for the weak, the old, and the poor has been expressed more and more obviously. However, however, however, human beings are selfish and never-satisfied. At least, most of us are. We love to buy whatever we want, we would love to have as much power as we can, and we wish to have as much money as possible. Yes, there are still many people and organizations care about others more than themselves. But, do they really? Or just some new politics and self-interest behind all that. We do not know.
Marx and Engels stated that we would eventually step into a maximum liberal society when inequality and social class would be gone for good. In that lovely society, we do not have to worry about hunger, inequality, and unfairness. Woow, sounds a dream place to me. But, will it really happen? I do not think so. Unless everybody abandons their selfishness and evilness....but can we? Still, I am not quite sure. If we cannot, people will always want more and more and always attend to have more than others. Why so many people want to get on the "Lawyer and doctor bus"? It is because it presents wealth, power, and social identity. It is just how society works. Many people want to deny it, fight it, and argue it. But nobody can actually change it.
So, we, human beings, keep climbing along the social chains. We try to get higher and higher...
So, not everybody on the same bus. There are so many different buses take us towards different destinies.
2. Now, its time to speak for the guy's side:
There is always another way to do something. According to the boy, if you have a car, you do not even have to take the bus anymore. You can go wherever you like, and go through different roads, avenues, and streets. Of course taking the bus is safer and more predictable since you already know where the bus is gonna take you to. To university, to law school, and to money. Differently, driving yourself is more flexible and less predicable. You might go to the wrong directions.
Bills Gates and Mark Zuckerburg, two of the perfect examples. They are at the top of the social class now, and have tons of money to do whatever they like. Both of them were on the bus what supposed to take them to the "Rich Road", however, they got off the bus and decided to drive their own car. Surprisingly, they got to the destiny even earlier than others.
Many encouraging stories told us that Do not ever stop! We just need to keep going, keep going forward....eventually we will see the rainbows and fireworks.
Of course, you can agree with the girl, you can stand on the boy's side, or you can have your own opinions. It does not matter. What matters is what you think what matters.
